WOW'ed Myself

Every now and then, I make something that makes me say, "WOW...did I really make that?!". ok...so I say it all the time. LOL!  I thank the LORD for blessing me with artistic capabilities!

This card falls under one of my "WOW" moments. It may not be to everyones taste, but, I LOVE it!

It all started with this bambino image by Sugar Nellie. Isn't it adorable? When I first seen it, I knew I HAD to have it. I painted it with water colors. I just adore the softness of it. Here's a close up.

For the inside of the card, I wanted to add a sentiment, as well as, a personal note to the recipient. So on the upper flap, I made a match box type note holder. I made a stick pin to hold the flap closed.

Just look at that cute lil baby bootie! I crocheted that and added it and a charm to a lobster clasp, so it can be removed and added to a key chain, or anything else that may be desired.

Here is the sentiment.

School Days

Another week...another fun challenge over at The Paper Variety. This week the theme is school.

Every now and then, I run across an awesome layout designed by another talented paper artist that I just have to scrap. That was the case for this layout. I scraplifted it from Debbie from Love Lifes Little Pleasures. (Thanks Debbie!)

I've had this photo of my dad from first grade for a long time. When I seen Debbie's layout, I knew it would be perfect for this photo. I used the Lucky kit from CTMH that I had won a while ago from Lasting Memories. It is full of awesomeness!

Don't forget to head over to TPV to see what the other talented DT members came up with.

Additional Challenges

Gingersnap Creations - denim, rust, & dust
Lil Red Wagon - use a number

Ta-Dah!

Time for another fun challenge over at The Paper Variety. This week, we are to use stars on our projects.

I LOVE the expression on Dax's face. While thinking of a title, I remembered the saying that is on the T-shirt he has on in the photo. The expression and title seem to fit. LOL

I think this is one of the fastest layouts I have ever done, as it is very simple.

This also qualifies as my layout for the 52 Week Challenge going on at Scrappin-N-Chattin and the mixed alphas for the SC 11 monthly challenges.

Southern Belle

This weeks challenge at The Paper Variety, is movie theme.   I recently captured this photo of my granddaughter Josslyn, and it immediately made me think of Gone With The Wind. I think it had to do with the floppy hat...lol.

I had alot of fun creating the embellishments for this layout. As y'all know, I LOVE making flowers. For this layout, I made a floral vine as well as mini roses. I added a couple of feathers behind the vine. And look at that butterfly...I think it turned out great. I used Build a Bug stamps from CTMH, colored it in with Bic Marks It, added some Stickles, then gave a generous coat of Glossy Accents.

This is also being used for another challenge over at Scrappin-N-Chattin, which is to use decorative scissors. Luckily, I kept a few pair for Dax to play around with.

Talk about adorable! I just LOVE how this hat turned out. I cut it from the Heritage cartridge. I added a small feather and the mini roses that I made, a tad bit of ribbon and a couple small strands of beads. Since it is a silhouette, I had to cut it in three colors to get the look I wanted.

I cut the word Belle out with the Cricut and SCAL using a font called Choppin Script.

Swirly Doos May Kit

I've received my very first Swirly Doos Kit. I'm so excited! I haven't gotten to play with any of the pretties yet, but I thought I would share with you what is all in the kit.

sorry about the poor photo...no matter what I tried it just wouldn't come out good. But you get the idea of the kit. I can't wait to start creating with all these goodies.

Coloring Eggs

This is this weeks challenge at The Paper Variety. Though this is my off week from the DT, I played along, as I LOVE the challenges.

I have seen dribbled paint on others layouts and have always wanted to give it a try. This challenge was the perfect opportunity for it. I opened the bottles and just squeezed out the paint, holding it a few inches above my background paper. I got globs in some areas, which would have looked great...if I had the patience to wait for them to dry...LOL!  So after I applied the paint, I covered the cardstock with a paper towel to absorb some of the paint. I really like the affect it gave.

This layout also covers the 52 Week Challenge and SC 11 challenge to use at least 6 eyelets on your layout over at Scrappin-N-Chattin. And Sketchy Thursdays.
