Life's Full of Happiness

I am really pleased with the way this layout based on this weeks sketch from Creative Scrappers turned out. I again used some of the MME Lime Twist collection that I won on their blog.

I am also using this layout for this weeks challenge over at Cher's Studio. The challenge is to use 3D flowers.  I made this flowers using the brown packing paper that comes in shipments when you order from certain places. I gave them a squirt of Glimmer Mist, then crinkled them up until they dried.

This layout is also for this weeks Fabulous Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs. The challenge is Ransom letters. A good way to use up some of your left over alphas.

MME-Back Together

This is my take on this months sketch challenge over at My Minds Eye Blog. I used some of the Lime Twist collection that I won a couple of challenges ago. Recently, I had all of my children and grandchildren together for the very first time. We all had a great time! I was so happy that hubbys parents were here to share in it as well. The photo is of all of my clan. The labels tell who is who from back row to front row.

This will also count for the 52 Week challenge that is going on over at Scrappin-N-Chattin, the HOTTEST scrappy Yahoo group ever!  LOL

Up Up and...

Just a quick post tonight.
I designed this layout using this weeks Sketchy Thursday sketch. I love these pictures I captured of Dax and his dad Rick playing in the pool during Rick's resent visit. Dax has such a great tan, and Rick looks as white as a ghost...LOL. Guess you can tell Dax lives on the coast and Rick hibernates in Minnesota.

Halloween Easel Card

I am not a huge card maker, but ever now and then, I run across a fun card challenge. I made this one for this weeks challenge over at Cher's Studio. The challenge is to make an Halloween themed easel card.  I purchased the Halloween Town svg cutting files from Cher also. She sells her files at The Digi Bistro. Let me just share, these files cut so smoothly, even the delicate parts.

Now for some close ups. For the background, I started with a plain piece of white card stock. I punched out a circle to use as a mask for the moon, then randomly inked with Distress inks in black, stormy sky, and weathered wood. Then I went over it with old paper. I cut cloud shapes to use as masks and just darked it up around the edges of the shapes to create the night sky.

Look at the shadow under the bat. To achieve  this, I cut out a extra bat, placed it right on the black ink pad and pushed it down with my finger to ink it up, then I placed it on the card stock and simply rubbed it with my fingers to transfer the ink. I used pop dots and placed the bat just above the stamped bat. pretty cool...huh? I used red Stickles to give the bat some scary eyes.

I added yellow Stickles on the windows to make them appear to be glowing. Just look at the cute lil fellow below.

This is only one of three pumpkins that come in the Halloween Town svg set. I just love this one with his silly face. Again I used Stickles and pop dotted him for dimension.

What a great spooky tree. Again, with all the lil curvy details, it cut smoothly.

I gave the black cat some spooky green shiny eyes with Stickles too. (yep...love me some Stickles LOL)

To hold the easel open, I used the label and word "Spooky" that are also included in the Halloween Town svg set.

Memories

For this layout, I incorporated a few different challenges. First being for The Paper Variety. The challenge is to use stickers. At first I was like...ewwww...I don't like stickers. Then I remembered some 3D ones that I have had for a long time that would fit my needs. I used a  La Petites by Paper Studio for the title.

The challenge this week over at Lasting Memories, is to use black and white, including photos. I have been meaning to scrap this photo of my grandparents from 1942 for a long time.

And over at Flutter By Wednesdays, the challenges all month are open. You just have to include a butterfly or fairy. For the butterfly, I cut it out of pattern paper and glued it to card stock for durability, then fussy cut it. I added a bit of black stickles and pearls to dress it up.

I've also incorporated one of my shabby flowers. I dyed it black, added just a touch of black Stickles and bunched it up with some white paper roses. Oh, and the corner brackets are from the same package as the title, I've added pearls to them as well.

For the journaling, I used a punch out and ran it through the printer, then added a couple black gems.

Tiny Dancers

I just love this photo I took of Dax and Josslyn! I think it fit well for the October GDT challenge over at Sketchy Thursdays. We were to follow this sketch and color combo.

This also qualifies for this weeks challenge over at The Paper Variety, which is to use stamps. Be sure you head over there to check things out, they are have a Blogaversary Hop. And Flutter By Wednesdays, which are having open challenges all month, just remember to include your butterfly or fairy on your creation. Also, Lasting Memories, whose challenge is "Simply You", about you or your loved ones, or simply something you love.

I chose to use masking and inks for the circles. I love the look.

For the title, I used tiny alphas for the word Tiny, and cut the word Dancers on the cricut using SCAL. I inked a phrase stamp in white, then re-stamped in black over the letters.

I painted a filigree metal piece with white acrylic paint, spritzed it with some blue mist, then rubbed some brown ink around the edges and embossed areas.

For the journaling, I just spelled the kids names with these teeny tiny alphas...aren't they the cutest?

Spit Happens

I used this weeks sketch from Sketchy Thursdays for this layout. I kept it pretty simple, however, I like how it turned out. I just love this picture of Rachel with a lil drool on her lip.The title was a free svg file that I don't remember who created. (sorry)

I'm Alive!

I have been a bit under the weather for a few weeks, and haven't been able to sit at my craft table to create...geez how I have missed it! I think the pain is getting better....or else the drugs have kicked in...LOL. I can now sit for an hour or so now.

I just wanted to let all you awesome followers know, that I haven't ran away. There's a list a mile long of things I want to get done. I will be posting some projects shortly.
