Haiden

For the tic tac toe challenge over at The Paper Variety this week, I made another page for the baby album I am working on. I chose the 3rd row down, use journaling strips, use buttons, make a one photo layout. I was really challenging myself with this layout by trying to stick with just a blue and white pallet. Since I love to mix patterns and colors, it was truly a challenge!

(sorry about the photo quality, couldn't get the lighting right)

Baby Boy

This is the second time I have used this design. I just can't help it! From the first moment I fell in love with it on Sandi Clarksons blog, I knew I had to lift it. So the first layout I made, I used sonogram photos of my granddaughter. This time I used a sonogram from my daughter in laws sisters baby Haiden. As I am working on an album for her, I KNEW I would have to make one of these! I think I will have to make one for every new baby now...LOL.

I did a hidden journaling tag that tucks behind the photo, plenty of space for Tasha to document her memories.

Aren't these lil baby feet the cutest? The were cut from the New Arrival cartridge, along with the bassinet and title.

I made my own crinkled ribbon (which I promised my friend Dawn I would do a video for...months ago!). The rattle charm was brass, I painted it with white acrylic paint to fit my needs.

I WON!

Have you seen this? Yep...that's me...I am so stoked! When I seen that I was the winner of 3 collections of my choice, I couldn't stop dancing! One would think I would have a hard time choosing since I want them ALL, but I just went with the top 3 on my wish list. Which were, Lost and Found Two, Fine and Dandy, and Lime Twist.

I can't thank My Minds Eye enough for their generosity! What an awesome start to my week! Pin It

2 Cute

This weeks challenge over at The Paper Variety, is to use a grid or the colors of the rainbow. If you can incorporate both...now that's a challenge! My question is....are tiles classified as a grid?
Recently, one of my daughter in laws sister had a baby boy. I just got my hands on some photos of him, so I am making an album of this little cutie and this is the first page I have made. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.

I have left plenty of journaling space for Haiden's mommy to write about him. I did put his name and the year, so it would qualify for a couple of challenges in my Yahoo group Scrappin-N-Chattin. Did you know, that Scrappin-N-Chattin was created by the same creators of The Paper Variety? There is also some awesome challenges within the group. Come check it out...you won't be disappointed!

Love

I LOVE how this layout turned out! Using the sketch from Bo Bunny, and the Gabrielle collection, I designed this of my oldest son Jakob's wedding from a few years back. I am sad however, because my Gabrielle papers are almost gone...just scraps left...(a little sniffle here) I absolutely LOVE the shabby romantic feel of this line.

As you know, I love to make flowers and am always looking for new materials to make them out of. I made these using crinoline and tulle. Crinoline is what petticoats are made from. It's a light weight stiffer material and holds it's shape, making it easy to manipulate. I purchase the white so I can dye it the colors I need. I love the shabby look. (boy...there sure is alot of love in this post....LOL)
I used the Bigz Die Tattered Flowers and ran it right through my Cuttlebug, dyed them, gave them a spritz of copper mist, then squished them up and let them dry.

I fussy cut a couple of butterflies out of one of the papers in the collection. I then added some Diamond Dust and made some antennas from wire.

I used one of the note cards and added a piece of the matching border as a pull tab. Journaling is on the reverse side.

For the title, I cut the word "Love" out from the Sweethearts cartridge, then added a bit of Stickles.

I inked and distressed all the edges, then used different thickness pop dots and popped all the layers for add dimension. Distressing is this weeks challenge at Lasting Memories.

Celebrate Life

Challenge 25 over at My Minds Eye is to use this sketch and a celebration theme.

What better way to celebrate than the birth of a new little one. I used pictures of when Dax was first born and the Stella and Rose collection from MME. I added some older Signature Suite embellies that I think went with the collection well.

here is my take

Cute

Have you see the challenge this week over at The Paper Variety...or the AWESOME projects the new design team have created? Well, the challenge is photo inspired...and what a cute photo it is, with tons of inspiration.

I was inspired by the black and white stripes and added in a punch of pink. When I seen the photo inspiration this week, it made me think of this picture of my granddaughter Josslyn, that I have been wanting to scrap for a few months now. I used one of Sketches In Thymes July sketches for this layout. I LOVE the sketch!

And now, for my layout.

My Town

One of the challenges this month in my yahoo group Scrappin-N-Chattin, is to create a layout about the town we live in, or our home town. I based mine on the town I am in currently, which is Aransas Pass, TX. Aransas Pass is along the gulf coast, 30 minutes from Corpus Christi, and 17 minutes from Rockport.

I used this weeks sketch from Sassy Lil Sketches and here is my layout.

Summer Mini

The challenge this week at Lasting Memories is to create a mini album, the subject being summer. I'm not a good mini album maker. I've only made a few, they seem to stump me. This one is no different. But here it is.

One would think that being that I live on the coast and spend alot of time on the beach, that I would have beach themed embellishments...not the case! I need to make a point to pick some up, as I have more pictures to go along with these, that I intend to add.

Soar

I made a layout based on the sketch over at Frosted Designs. I thought I was about to miss the dead line for entering their challenge, but I learned I still had a few days, so,my layout is kind of plain, but I am still please with it's turn out.

Whoooo?

The challenge this week over at The Paper Variety, is based this sketch.

I was inspired by the owl on it and immediately thought of  "whoo loves you baby?"and remembered the photos I had taken of Josslyn and Dax sharing a friendly hug.

I used papers from Dream Street Papers, the Sam collection, that I recently ordered from Stacy over at The Scrapbooking Cottage. I LOVE these papers! The cute little owl is part of a set of svg files that I purchased from My Scrap Chick. I designed the tree in Inkscape and cut it on the Cricut, using SCAL.
