July 24 Hour Challenge

Over at Scrappin-n-Chattin, every month there is a 24 Hour Challenge. All participates list 3 collections that they have and 3 sketches are provided. The hostess partners us up and we have to choose which collection and sketch our partner will use. Then they have 24 hours to complete a layout and get it posted into the designated album. This month I had to use this awesome sketch designed by Julie Bonner and the Little Man collection from the Quite Contrary Line by My Minds Eye

This is what I came up with

I've also added an owl from Create A Criter Cricut Cartridge (love that lil guy!)

Just Beachy

I sure have been getting alot done lately. I have to give credit for that to the gals over at Scrappin-n-Chattin, they are some of the most inspirational bunch I have ran across in a long time. I have always considered myself a SLOW scrapper, being so undecisive of placement of everything. Here lately, I have just been using the "oh just glue it down method" and low and behold...it works! LOL I am getting so much more done that way and I actually like how the layouts turn out! who would of thought!

So I am pleased to show you another layout I have completed for Practical Scrappers Monthly Challenge. This months theme was "Just Beachy" using something you would take or find at the beach. You all know how much we LOVE the beach! I have hundreds of photos taken at the beach, and this gave me the opportunity to use some more of them.
I used a sand dollar that we actually found on the beach. These pictures were taken on South Padre Island just a week after a hurricaine hit the area. It was a bit dreary the week we were there, but we still had an awesome time.

Color Splash!

Challenge #40 over at The Play Date Cafe this week is Color Splash. The requirements are to use black and white with a splash of green. You can make any type of project you'd like, as long as it is in the guidelines of the colors.

I don't know about you, but I LOVE the look of black and white with a splash of color. I think it looks so elegant. Here is a card I have created.

Embossing On Mini Albums

This weeks challenge over at The Cuttlebug Spot is to use embossing on a mini album. I don't usually make mini albums, I'm a layout type of gal. However, I just learned that my new grandbaby that is due December 1st is a girl! So I thought this would be the perfect time to make a mini girly album. And when there's a chance at winning some goodies, that makes it all the better. This weeks prize is $50 for Simon Says Stamp! 50 BUCKS!!! whewww whooooo

ok...now on to my creation.

I WON!

At Scrappin-n-Chattin, there are lots of fun challenges and games. One of the challenges is the SC10. How this works, members donate three to five dollars. However, you DO NOT, have to donate to play. There are 10 seperate challenges to complete by the end of the month. Only 10! For each challenge you complete, you get a chance in the drawing. You can also get in the drawing by making cards following certain prompts.

Then at the end of the month, everyones names go into the pot, but only one name can come out. And guess who's name came out of that pot for the month of June....that's right....MINE! Talk about excited! There was $56 in the donation pot...whewww whoooo!

Now it's time to await the arrival of my scrappy goodies that Abby will pick out for me. Of course, everyone provides a wish list so she can shop for items you want. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

here is one of the 10 that I have created

Want to join in on the fun? Come join us at Scrappin-n-Chattin, it is FULL of very talented chatty, inspirational gals.
