Painted Monogram Canvas Tutorial

Lately I have enjoyed painting canvas's. My friend Dawn suggested that i make a tutorial showing how I make one. So I came up with this very simple one to start with.

You Light Up My Life

Did you get a chance to play along with the August 1st sketch over at Sketch~N~Scrap? If so, great. If not, there is still time to play along. As well as, the second sketch for the month. Now here is my take

I love these pictures I captured of Dax with the sparklers. Believe it or not, this was his first experience with them. At first, he was scared to hold them. But after the fear wore off, he was running all around with them.

For the circles, I used an old pill bottle with the lid removed and dipped in in some paint. The stars are traced with shapes I cut on the Cricut.

A Small Canvas

As well as scrapbooking, I love to paint. My newest craze is painting canvas's. I seen this quote on Pinterest and knew it had to have a place in my craft room. I painted on a small 4 inch by 12 inch canvas and hung it on the little space of wall between the closet door and corner. It was meant to be!

Here is another painting I did recently for my dear friend Suzanne. Her and her husband Dave have been blessed with a super adorable baby girl. When she announced the nursery decor was going to be paisley and owls, I got busy painting.

Next one is a 24x36 that I will be doing for my living room.

Family/Sketch~N~Scrap

OMG....I'm Late!  I knew it was coming...but really....how did August 1st get here?  My life is crazy right now and I can't seem to keep things straight. But enough about that, let's get to another great sketch by Sketch~N~Scrap.

Here is August 1st sketch...isn't it great?

And here is my take on it.

I used the oldie but goody Restoration collection by Crate Paper.  It went so well with the photo. Like it was meant to be.  

Recently I went to Michigan. This was the first time since 1999 that all five of us kids were with my mom.
