Mud Bath

I recently received these pictures of my granddaughter Rachel playing in a mud puddle. I LOVE them and couldn't wait to get them developed and scrap them. I used them for the 24 Hour Challenge that we have each month over at the yahoo group Scrappin-N-Chattin. It's another very simple layout that I am happy with.

I used the oldie but goodie Restoration collection by Crate Paper and the following sketch.

Mohawk

I love this silly picture of my granddaughter Rachel. Like her daddy at her age, she has very little hair and what she does have is so light you really can't see it. I think her mommy did this just to show me she does have hair. LOL!

I followed the sketch for challenge 21 over at Let's Get Sketchy. I decided to keep it very simple and love how it turned out. Also, I incorporated one of our challenges in the yahoo group Scrappin-N-Chattin, which is to sew a shape. I stitched a heart using pink burlap string.

New Friends

Following July's sketch from Once Upon A Sketch, with a friend theme, I created this  "New Friends" layout.

I don't remember ever doing a monochromatic layout before and let me tell you, it was no easy task. I love to mix patterns and colors, so I really struggled with this.

For the title, i painted chipboard alphas using a blue pearl acrylic paint. I love the shimmer it gave.

I made the headbands and tutus, so I made a flower that matches the headbands to incorporate in the layout. I also used a water pen and ink to dye what were white flowers blue.

I used the same wet ink technique to make the butterfly have a blue tint.

I once again did hidden journaling. I cut out the design from one of the papers in the MME Lost and Found collection, which I used throughout the layout. It was perfect to make a tag to tuck behind the photo.

Canon Ball

I used the Boys Rule July kit and followed their lastest sketch for this layout. This kit fit perfectly with the recent photo I captured of Dax and my great niece Emma doing canon balls at the pool.

Me at 47

For this layout, I was inspired by sketch #139 over at Let's Capture These Sketches. What a great sketch! I also incorporated one of the monthly prompts at Scrappin-N-Chattin, which was to design a layout based on Me "at". So I chose now at age 47. WOW...47! I remember when that seemed like eons away. LOL

I did some hidden journaling on the reverse side of the tag. Actually, I just used words that describe me at this time in my life. Content, Happy, Stubborn, Creative, and Loved.

For the title I used chipboard pieces that I used gesso on, then painted them.
I made the frame by cutting 4 of the same designs on the Cricut, then adhered them together. I then applied a think coat of gesso and once dried, dabbed on some distress inks. You can see a tutorial I made previously HERE.

Rugged

I followed the sketch that is for the DT call over at Nuts About Sketches. The call is going on until July 31st, so there is plenty of time if you want to try out.
I started with Prima paper, and sewed on a piece of burlap. I really love the rugged look it gave. All of the other elements are from Simple Stories Awesome collection, other than the font. I cut the font from velvet paper. sorry, it escapes me who it is made by. I was so happy to discover that it cut like butter on the Cricut with the regular blade. Here are some close ups.

All American

I used the oldie but goodie Block Party collection by Bo Bunny and followed the sketch over at Let's Get Sketchy and the inspiration photo over at The Pink Elephant, as well as, red and white for Lasting Memories.  One of our challenges in the yahoo group Scrappin-N-Chattin, is to use stars and stripes in a way other than using a flag. This collection was perfect for that.
