Polka Dots

dots...dots...dots....everywhere dots! That is this weeks challenge at The Paper Variety. I found this free dress form digi which gave me the inspiration for this card. I used a polka dot paper for the background which I had inked with distress inks, then lightly misted it with water and crumpled it into a ball to get a wrinkled worn look.

I made the flower and added a lace yoyo, a feather, and a strand of beads. I think it added alot of character.

2 Months

This week over at The Paper Variety, the challenge is to use a number on your project. I have been working on a mini album based on Kalista being 2 months old. So I thought, why not make a 12x12 to go along with it. I LOVE this picture I took of her.

I created this fabric flower, and when I get all the kinks worked out and  the technique down a bit better, I will be offering them for sell in my shop.

For the butterfly, I printed out a picture of a butterfly onto glossy photo paper and cut it out. I then added the antennas and some black diamond Stickles. I think it turned out great. You can't tell in the photo, but it's wings are bent up to give a 3D look.

The title is where the number comes in to play. I cut the number 2 as well as the swirly embellishment from the Elegant Cake cartridge (I swear this is my favorite cart!) I added blue pearls to the number and MS tinsel glitter to the top layer of the embellishment.

This layout is also for the 52 Week Challenge going on over on the yahoo group Scrappin-N-Chattin.

I used this months sketch challenge from the yahoo group Scrappin-N-Chattin, as well as one of the other monthly challenges, which is to use a 5x7 photo.

For more inspiration, be sure to check out the other design team members projects. Also, be sure to play along this week for your chance to win this awesome prize of a Citrus Tree Studio kit. One lucky winner will be randomly drawn.

US

One of the challenges this month on my yahoo group Scrappin-N-Chattin, is to create a layout of ourselves that include at least one other person. I've always liked this picture of hubby and I, so I decided to use it. I used Bo Bunny's Gabrielle papers....which I LOVE!

Puddle Jumping

It was so much fun watching Dax jumping through the puddles. It brought back fond memories of myself playing in the warm spring rain as a child.

This layout was inspired by this weeks challenge at The Paper Variety, which is inspiration by this photo.

When I seen the inspiration photo, these pictures of  Dax popped right into my head. I have been needing to scrap them since last spring.

Isn't that frog just the cutest? I bought him from My Scrap Chick. They have some of the cutest cutting files. I made the cattails myself.

Now don't miss out on your chance to win an awesome prize for playing along with The Paper Variety this week. One random entry will win the State Fair collection from Studio Calico.

Puppy Kisses

For this layout, I used this weeks sketch from Sketches In Thyme. I have also incorporated one of the challenges from Scrappin-N-Chattin, which is to use a negative from a alphabet.
