A Cousins Love

Kalista loves to terrorize her cousin Dax, as you can see in these pictures. But if truth be known, Dax loves it too.  LOL

I loosely used the new sketch from Sketch~N~Scrap for this layout. I love the sketch and already have another layout churning in my mind.

You should head over and see the DT takes on the sketch. They are very inspiring.

I'm Back....I Think!

I took a bit of a break. A lot of stuff going on in my life at the same time. I just didn't have time to craft as much as I would have liked. But I think I'm back and ready to get back in to the swing of crafting.

I have created layouts of my grand babies to hang on my living room wall. I finally got my youngest grand daughter Laila's done. Not bad, only took me 6 months...LOL.

A few close ups

I cut the bird from chipboard and inked it with a few different colors, then added some Stickles.

I cut the border using the Demask Decor Cricut cartridge. I used the same technique on it as the bird. Also adding some pearls.

of course I had to include some beautiful Prima flowers.

And lastly, I used rub-ons to create the title. This is something I did on all five layouts.

So there it is! Thanks for stopping by and taking a look. Hopefully my next post will come soon.

Catch the Wave

Every month I create the sketch for the monthly sketch challenge for the yahoo group Scrappin-N-Chattin. I thought I would share it with y'all this month and the layout I created using it.

the sketch

my take

I used Webster's Pages Yacht Club kit that I had won in one of the previous monthly challenges at SNC.  I love the light house, and fussy cut it from one of the sheets of paper in the kit.

That's my fun loving mom in the pictures. Let me tell you, us kids don't have nothing on her! Even in her 70's she tries to keep up with the great grand kids. She was using one of their boogie boards to catch the waves.

We would love to have you come join us at Scrappin-N-Chattin, there are many monthly challenges, prizes, and TONS of chatting.

Note: If you are not a member of SNC and you use my sketch, please give credit where credit is due.

Rag Doll

Another layout for the monthly challenge at Scrappin-N-Chattin. The requirements for this one is to use some type of ledger.  As you can see, I used a whole sheet of ledger paper.  Guess I really wanted to make sure it qualified for the challenge.  LOL!

I got the inspiration from a layout I had seen in the past on I think Scrapbook.com. Sorry, I didn't document the designers name, so if it is you or you know who it is, please leave a comment and I will give credit where it is due.

Isn't this boot adorable. It came in a package of embossed chip board pieces I picked up in the dollar bin at Michael's. I rubbed a bit of red ink over the embossed area.

I used one of those little coin paper sacks to make my envelope. I just folded it over. I did the sticker ink technique for the word note and clipped it to the twine with a bitty clothes pin. Inside is just a lil note for Josslyn telling her how much I love her.

Explore

I had so much fun creating this layout. It went together surprisingly fast.

I started by rubbing several different shade of distress inks, then spritzed some mists. Then I went to town with several different stamps and inks, and added a touch of rub ons.

For the title, I used an epoxy type sticker of the word explore and loosely stuck it down and rubbed distress ink over it. Then I removed it and set it off a touch. Love how it turned out!

Because I didn't want the journaling in the open on the page, I incorporated some hidden journaling.

Just some fun touches. My sent me some embellies that worked perfect on this layout. Sandi sent me the veneer camera, and Dawn sent me a bunch of different rub ons which these polka dots came from. I love that crackled glass stamp by Tattered Angels.

Really?

omg...really, it's been since January since I have made a blog post?   wow!

My life had been turned upside down, and all my circuits got singed.  LOL  I think they are starting to mend. I will be under going a surgical procedure this coming Tuesday, and hubby has a major surgery coming up, then I think we may be good for a while and get some normalcy back in our lives.

My crafting time has been greatly altered and I can't wait to get it back!  I am involved in a 52 Week Challenge with Scrappin-N-Chattin (yahoo group) and I have been having a very hard time even fitting in one layout a week. I am so afraid that I will be out of the challenge after today. I have to get two layouts made by midnight tonight. One for a pass I used last week, and one for this week. As of right now, I don't see the possibility of that happening. *pout pout*

Here are a couple that I got done but hadn't shared. Not my best work, but acceptable.

Thanks for sticking around and being a follower of my blog. I appreciate each and every one of you!
